Hello and welcome. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional. I am the founder and clinical director of Emotional Wellness - Lisa Finn Counseling Services. For over a decade the clients I work with have been referring to me as their feelings teacher. I help children, adolescents and adults to identify, normalize and cope with their emotions. The treatment I provide is eclectic. I engage my clients with the use of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), creative arts, music, meditation, mindfulness and bibliotherapy.
Yuxuan Beregovich, Licensed Clinical Social Worker received her masters degree from Fordham University. Yuxuan has experience working with children, teens and adults in varied settings such as inpatient psychiatric hospitals, schools and private residences. Yuxuan is also a Field Instructor for graduate students at Fordham University. Yuxuan is well-versed in the use of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as mindfulness techniques. She brings skill, positivity, and warmth when providing treatment.
Jolene Abran, Licensed Master Social Worker is a graduate of Adelphi University School of Social Work. Jolene has a decade of Social Work and Case Management experience. Jolene’s passion and therapeutic work history includes assisting adolescents, children and parents in self-esteem building, communication strategies, and strengthening the child/ care-giver bond. Rachel Nelson, Master Social Worker is an Adelphi University School of Social Work graduate. Her background includes being a trauma informed breathwork facilitator, certified somatic embodiment coach, and reiki practitioner. Rachel has experience working with children, teens, and adults in various settings such as an inpatient adolescent psychiatric hospital, higher education, and in private practice. She specializes in treatment with anxiety, self-confidence, and building emotional skills. Rachel is knowledgeable in the use of cognitive behavioral therapy, meditation practices, mindfulness techniques, and somatic psychology. She brings her skills to treatment with warmth and creativity to help you alleviate everyday challenges
Christie Torre, Master Social Worker and NYS certified Bilingual School Social Worker is a graduate of Hunter College’s Silberman School of Social Work. Christie brings years of experience working with children, teens, and adults in various settings and across all school levels (from preschool to high school). She has advanced training in trauma work and play therapy with both typical children, and those with developmental disabilities. Christie specializes in treating emotional dysregulation, anxiety, ADHD, and strengthening the parent/child bond. Christie focuses on creating a warm, encouraging, and positive relationship with her clients to cultivate a safe space where all can grow and thrive.
Pamela Nathan, Licensed Master Social Worker is a graduate of Adelphi University. Pamela takes a holistic view with her clients to help them identify their personal strengths and navigate a wide range of social and emotional challenges. Pamela promotes education on self-reliance and confidence building with the goal of aiding clients in recognizing their abilities and self-worth. Pamela teaches her clients effective communication skills and helps them reframe and reevaluate circumstances to achieve positive outcomes. Pamela utilizes the systems approach to bring awareness to her clients of how all things are interconnected and employs cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to illustrate the relationship between our emotions, thoughts and reactions. Empowering individuals to build and enhance relationships is a top priority.
Malorie Saccone is a highly trained Master Social Worker with a degree from Fordham University. With a wealth of experience, she has served as a School Social Worker and worked closely with children with developmental disabilities and emotional dysregulation for several years. Her strength-based therapeutic approach is focused on children and adolescents, helping them to achieve their objectives, explore their passions, overcome their fears, and harness their strengths. She specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), mindfulness, play therapy as well as trauma-focused therapy. Malorie provides a compassionate and empathic energy that assists clients when working through anxiety. Her goal is to help clients discover their passions, channel their strengths and achieve the desired positive change in their life.
Alison Siegel, Licensed Clinical Social Worker received her masters degree from Columbia University. She has over a decade of experience in the mental health field working with children, teens and adults. Alison’s current role is as the administrative assistant at Emotional Wellness.
Alexandra Boris received her masters degree from Fordham University. She is also a certified adult and children’s yoga teacher (CYT 500), and Reiki Master. Alexandra has worked with children, adolescents, and adults, as well as Veterans, and people in need of end of life care. Alexandra’s approach is integrative and holistic; relying upon evidence-based models and mindfulness practices that create a personalized approach
Alyx Isaacson is a passionate and skilled Master Social Worker with a degree from Fordham University. She has worked with various populations ranging from adolescents to adults within various settings. She specializes in trauma work, self-esteem, mindfulness, stress management, and art therapy. She embraces a warm, collaborative safe environment which aspires healing and growth when providing treatment. Her approach empowers her clients through strength exploration to discover the connection between the body and brain.
Shannon McGuinness received her masters degree from Fordham University. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings such as inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient. Shannon embraces an integrative approach utilizing cognitive behavioral techniques, dialectical behavioral techniques, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness. Shannon provides an open atmosphere based on acceptance, understanding, and empathy.
Gina Zegers is a Master of Social Work Student at Boston University and is currently in her advanced internship placement at Emotional Wellness. She has 15 years of clinical experience, specializing in geriatric services as a Case Manager. Gina also has experience in a previous psychotherapy placement working with children and adolescents. Gina applies techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and provides an empathetic approach within her practice.
Gabriella Pernice is a senior at Calhoun High School and is enrolled in the school’s Senior Experience Internship Program. This course provides students with an out-of-school opportunity to obtain knowledge in their desired field. She is planning on majoring in Psychology with a minor in Forensics. Gabriella has extensive child care experience, as she has worked at Merrick Woods summer camp and the Merrick PAL Soccer Unit. Gabriella assists with workshops and helps therapists create new engaging activities to use with our clients.
Claire Agajan, Licensed Master Social Worker received her degree from Adelphi University. She has extensive experience working with families. She utilizes psychoeducation and supportive counseling to treat adjustment issues, depression, and anxiety. Her work also includes experience with children in the school setting. Claire’s work with children has focused on building social skills and adjusting to family changes such as divorce. Claires goal is to create a positive and safe space for her clients while engaging them through use of creative interventions, mindful techniques, and other evidenced-based models to connect their thoughts and actions to their feelings.
Victoria is enrolled at Adelphi University studying for her Masters in Social Work. Victoria has previously gained experience at a Nassau County based private practice.Victoria also has extensive childcare experience. Victoria aids with workshops, manages our social media, and works with therapists to develop new engaging activities for our clients.
Amanda is a Certified School Social Worker and has gained significant experience while working within several schools on Long Island. Throughout her career Amanda has focused on helping her clients build a growth mindset. Amanda has conducted numerous social skill and emotional regulation groups.
Joanna Marullo, Licensed Master Social Worker, is a graduate of Adelphi University’s School of Social Work. She has several years of clinical experience supporting children, adolescents, and their families. Joanna’s passion and therapeutic work history includes assisting children, adolescents, and their families experiencing emotional and mental health related challenges. She specializes in treating GAD, ADHD, OCD, social anxiety, and unspecified mood disorders. She, additionally, has small group experience helping children with social skill development and parent training for behavioral issues in the home environment. Joanna utilizes various approaches including: Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), directive play therapies, and sand tray play therapy. She is also well versed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) with a specific focus on children and adolescents. Joanna’s skill set is also applicable to working with adults using similar therapeutic modalities, strategies, and techniques. Her eagerness and motivation to change someone’s current state of mental health deeply impacts the clients she works with across the lifespan.
Joan has obtained certifications in Chair Yoga, Yoga for Cancer and Children’s Yoga. Joan has been practicing for over 25 years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Credentialed Alcohol Substance Abuse Counselor. Joan also holds a Certification for Mindful Based Stress Reduction. (MBSR) . Joans personal journey with a chronic illness led to her life changing experience and learning opportunity with chair yoga. Chair yoga can improve your concentration and strength, while boosting your mood and reducing stress and joint strain.
